The Stormopen StudyZone II On-Ear Ambient Sound Wireless Headphones extend the StudyZone line’s focus on cognitive work with the addition of a high-transparency ambient sound mode that allows environmental audio — office conversations, library announcements, door knocks — to pass through the headphones at near-natural fidelity without requiring the listener to remove the headphones. The ambient sound system uses two external MEMS microphones per earcup, sampling environmental audio at 96 kHz sampling rate and reproducing it through the drivers with a latency of 4 milliseconds and a frequency response matched to the natural ear’s response curve within plus or minus 3 dB across 200 Hz to 8 kHz. Three ambient transparency levels are selectable via the Stormopen companion app: Natural, which passes all frequencies equally; Voice Focus, which applies a 4 kHz bandpass filter to emphasize speech while attenuating broadband background noise; and Wind Reduction, which applies a low-frequency high-pass filter at 80 Hz to eliminate wind noise artifacts during outdoor use. The 40 mm drivers are tuned with a flat, studio-monitor-inspired response optimized for extended listening at moderate volumes, avoiding the fatiguing high-frequency peaks common in consumer-tuned headphones. The 850 mAh battery delivers 32 hours at moderate volume without ambient mode, or 26 hours with ambient mode continuously active. Net weight is 192 g.
